SAINT JOHN (GNB) – Xiplinx Technologies Ltd., a Saint John company, will commercialize its software solution called SITEFLO, and hire new employees to help with sales and marketing thanks to more than $700,000 in contributions from the provincial and federal governments.

“Job creation is our government’s major priority. Leveraging innovation to create jobs and improve government revenues is critical to our future,” said Economic Development Minister Rick Doucet. “Our investment in Xiplinx will help create 20 new jobs and assist in growing the economy right here in Saint John and New Brunswick.”

The provincial government is investing $500,000 into the project to support the hiring of a sales development manager, as well as the creation of 20 incremental jobs focused on customer service support.

“Our government is committed to helping create the conditions for businesses to grow, compete, innovate and succeed,” said Saint John MP Rodney Weston. “This project will help Xiplinx Technologies commercialize its inventive software solution and increase its sales, ultimately positioning the company for future growth and bringing benefits to this community for years to come.”

Weston attended the event for Rob Moore, federal minister of state for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).

The federal government, through ACOA’s Business Development Program, is providing $214,250 in support of two projects; the hiring of a sales development manager and hiring marketing expertise to undertake activities such as the production of marketing materials, tradeshow attendance and demonstration units.

“Improving our ability to grow sales and to support our customers and channel partners continues to be our organization’s priority,” said Brent MacDonald, CEO of Xiplinx Technologies Ltd. “These investments make it possible to meet the demand for the SITEFLO product in a variety of markets, with a New Brunswick-based team.”
